Web Site Issues

The Watershed Group is a distributor of high performance home theatre equipment. They had an old outdated website which did not showcase the current product lineup, and was not commensurate with the calibre of products they sold. They contacted WebFire Designs to create a new web site that showcased their high quality products. One requirement was to create a password protected section of the site to enable staff to upload a series of price lists, and update those lists regularly, as well as the ability for dealers to view those lists based on more than a dozen criteria.

Another requirement was to create the ability for dealers to create a directory listing, with address and contact information, and then display those dealers on a map, searchable based on geographic area and product lines carried.

Our Web Design Solution

This was a fun project. We were able to meet all of the requirements laid out within the time frame and budget proposed at the beginning of the process. Staff are able to upload price lists, tag them with terms from a designated list so that dealers, depending on their permissions, are only able to view and download the lists that they are authorized for.

Dealers are also able to create a listing, tag the product lines they carry, and have that listing displayed on a map, searchable by site visitors based on location and manufacturer. This is very useful to people searching for distributors of a specific product line across Canada.
