APLAK Safety and Rescue Training offers IHSA approved Working at Heights Courses. The course is a requirement for anyone working in the construction industry. APLAK Safety and Rescue Training had no online presence of any kind so they were looking for a way to bring in new customers and allow them to register online to simplify their registration and accounting process. They offer both initial and refresher courses with specific requirements for each course registration process. The refresher course registration process requires a specific email be sent only to those registering for the refresher course. There is also a requirement for some customers to register, but be invoiced later. These students still need to have seats reserved the same way other students do who have paid for the course ahead of time.
Our Web Design Solution
We chose the Drupal Content Management System with Drupal Commerce because of the extensive flexibility and customization that it provides. Staff at APLAK Safety and Rescue Training can easily create new courses by filling in some simple pre-configured forms. When someone registers for a course, an email confirmation message is sent to both the site owner and the person who registered. If someone registers for the refresher course they are sent a different email than those registering for the initial course. There is also the option for some agencies to register, but not pay online - they are invoiced later. These students still have reserved seats even though they have not yet paid for the course. Drupal and Drupal Commerce provide extensive customization and flexibility that allow for a great deal of control over the online registration and payment process.
