Issues
Knox Presbyterian Church is located in Waterdown, ON. They serve the local community of Waterdown with services and programming for children and youth as well as drop-ins, bible study, and men's and women's groups. There is also a choir, a praise team, a book club and prayer groups. In addition to regular Sunday services they offer a video option with live YouTube streaming for those not able to attend in person.
The old Knox website had an outdated design, and was not easy to maintain. The site was written in static html with no back-end administration section to enable Church staff to update content. As programming was added over the years and the direction of the Church changed there was no way for staff to easily update content.
Our Solution
Goals for the new website included the ability for staff to update content on a weekly basis. They wanted to be able to add, edit, and remove programs throughout the year. A news section would enable them to use the site as a communication tool to update what was happening at the Church.
When the pandemic made it impossible for the Church to stay open we were able to pivot quickly and easily to online services with an embedded live YouTube channel and online library of Sunday services for people to worship from the comfort and safety of their own homes.
