Cleaner World Energy

Cleaner World Energy installs solar PV systems under the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) MicroFIT program. They contacted WebFire Designs to design, host, and maintain their website. The site has a number of capabilities including photo galleries, a calendar of upcoming events, seminar registration forms, and articles and resources.

Design Goals

The primary goals were to market the solar installation business and to educate site visitors on the benefits of investing in a solar PV system.

They wanted to have a number of photo galleries for people not familiar with solar PV systems to get an idea of what they look like, and what’s involved in their installation.

They also wanted to promote seminars and other events and provide a  mechanism for people to register for these events online.

Technical Requirements

Requirements included a CMS to enable easy updating of the site by non-tech staff, a calendar of upcoming events, photo galleries, and a resources section.

Implementation

We chose to implement this site using the popular Drupal CMS. Drupal offers a number of features that make it ideal for this type of site including well-structured content, almost unlimited customization and flexibility, and support for many different types of content including articles and resources, photo galleries, email forms, and calendar items.

Next Steps

We will continue to work with Cleaner World Energy on keeping their site up to date with new features as required.
